With the sponsorship of World Health Organization WHO), in February 2017, National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) assigned 2 technical staffs from Quality Control of Viral Vaccine Department to arrive at National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) – Japan, study and exchange experience with NIID’s experts in order to strengthen the capacity for quality control of Influenza vaccine at NICVB.
During the session, the main topics such as criteria for evaluate the quality of Influenza vaccine, the process of controlling input materials to finished products… were thoroughly analyzed and discussed by Japanese senior experts. Furthermore, NICVB side in collaboration with NIID experts performed some tests for quality control of Influenza vaccine together in laboratories. While exchanging practical experience, NICVB’s trainees learned from NIID’s experts and improve their skills and knowledge. The training course finished with flying colors, premised on the next plan of inter-laboratory collaboration between 2 Institutes in the future.
