At a meeting of National Standing Committee for COVID-19 prevention and control in Hanoi on August 21, Representative of Minister of Health- Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long said that in general outbreaks in Vietnam were all under control, including in Da Nang, Quang Nam and the number of new infection cases were decreasing in last few weeks. Ministry of Health has pointed out summarized lessons from the fight against the new COVID-19 outbreaks in Da Nang, Quang Nam and Hai Duong. Therefore, Representative Minister of Health- Mr. Nguyen Thanh Long shared 9 lessons at the meeting

Following strategy of Ministry of Health to launch of immunization against diphtheria in Tay Nguyen provinces, on 10 July, Mr. Ngo Phi Phuong- Vice Director of National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) and Mr. Duong Huu Thai- Director of Institute of Vaccine and Medical Biological (IVAC, Nha Trang) gave 5.000 vaccine doses against tetanus, diphtheria (Td) and 15 vaccine transport boxes for Dak R’lap Medical Center, Dak Nong province.

On July 4th 2017, National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) held a meeting to remark outstanding activities in the first 6 months of 2017 and propose the development orientation in the last 6 months.

On March 1st 2017, Ministry of Health signed the certificate no. 242/GCM-BYT which asserts that Quality Control of Biologicals Department, NICVB meets requirements for confirmed HIV positive (HIV+) testing.

The year 2016 of National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) has gone by with various outstanding events. Results and achievements, efforts and attempts, strengths or weaknesses, successful experience or lessons from failure… Each of them played an important part to keep NICVB developing more and more when the new year 2017 has been coming.

By having 2 control laboratories meeting World Health Organization (WHO)’s requirements and operating the Center for Science Technology and Health Services effectively, National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) has taken the first steps toward upgrading the control laboratory system to standards of Asian National Control Laboratory in 2020.

Drug Administration of Vietnam (DAV) – Ministry of Health gave the certificate of Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) to National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) on December 22nd 2016

On November 1st 2016, got sponsored by World Health Organization (WHO), National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) in collaboration with domestic vaccine manufacturers held the annual Workshop on “Harmonizing technical method in quality control of EPI vaccines (Expanded Programme on Immunization) between NICVB and domestic manufacturers” at Muong Thanh hotel, Dai Kim ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi.

Carrying out the Decision no. 2119/QĐ-BYT dated June 17th 2013 of Ministry of Health on Immunization safety strengthening plan; regarding to Circular 12/2014/TT-BYT dated March 20th 2014 on Guide to using and management vaccines in immunization, National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) continues organizing a training course on Immunization Safety for medical staffs who works in immunization field.
