With the aim of strengthening the capacity of using equipment for technical staff, from June 12th to 16th 2017, the leadership of National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals assigned 2 officials to visit the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety (MFDS), Republic of Korea to participate in the 3rd training course on use of equipment for vaccine quality control.

As part of the cooperation plan between National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) and domestic/foreign manufacturers, from June 24th to 30th 2017

Pertussis is an infectious disease which can be easily spread through the respiratory tract and turns into outbreaks in community. In the world or in Vietnam, there are currently 2 kinds of vaccine which prevent people from Pertussis: acellular Pertussis (aP) and whole-cell Pertussis (wP) vaccines. The process of quality control plays a critical role in assuring the quality of Pertussis vaccines before they are licensed to be circulated onto the market, which includes potency and safety tests.

With the sponsorship of World Health Organization WHO), in February 2017, National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) assigned 2 technical staffs from Quality Control of Viral Vaccine Department to arrive at National Institute of Infectious Diseases (NIID) – Japan, study and exchange experience with NIID’s experts in order to strengthen the capacity for quality control of Influenza vaccine at NICVB.

On July 18th, the delegation of National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NIID), Japan led by Prof. Ichirro Kurane – Director General of NIID visited to the National Institute for Control of Vaccine and Biologicals (NICVB)

From January 16th to February 10th 2017, 4 staffs from NICVB and one from Drug Administration of Vietnam, Ministry of Health took part in the training course held by JICA on strengthening the capacity of NRA system for developing countries. This training course is an annual activity which has been bringing encouraging outcomes to NRA systems of beneficiary countries and promoting the cooperative relationship towards the development and establishment of vaccine regulation in Vietnam.

On December 27th 2016, at the wrap-up meeting “Management and implementation of projects which belongs to the National Product Programme on human preventive vaccines up to the year 2020”, Administration of Science Technology and Training - Ministry of Health (ASTT) in collaboration with National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) hosted the contract signing ceremony of Science and Technology Project “Researching and producing 11 National Vaccine Standard References used for vaccine quality control” belongs to National Product Programme on human preventive vaccines.

From November 29th to December 2nd 2016, Science-Training-International Cooperation Department – National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) has successfully held the training course “ISO/IEC 17025 and Good Laboratory Practice (GLP)” to strengthen knowledge for NICVB’s officials as well as ameliorate knowledge for the new ones on some essential professional content of Quality Control system.

On November 28th 2016, at 13:30, the National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB)’s professional briefing was periodically held at the meeting hall with the participation of the whole Institute’s staffs and researchers.

On November 1st 2016, got sponsored by World Health Organization (WHO), National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB) in collaboration with domestic vaccine manufacturers held the annual Workshop on “Harmonizing technical method in quality control of EPI vaccines (Expanded Programme on Immunization) between NICVB and domestic manufacturers” at Muong Thanh hotel, Dai Kim ward, Hoang Mai district, Hanoi.
