On November 28th 2016, at 13:30, the National Institute for Control of Vaccines and Biologicals (NICVB)’s professional briefing was periodically held at the meeting hall with the participation of the whole Institute’s staffs and researchers.
The professional briefing’s content was focused on “Process of preparing Lowenstein-Jensen Medium” which is one of the standard operating procedures (SOPs) have actually been doing at Experimental-Media department, NICVB.
Lowenstein – Jensen medium,more commonly known asLJ medium, is a selective medium specially used for culture, isolation and diagnosis ofMycobacteriaspecies. It is intended for testing antibiotic susceptibility of the isolated bacterial strains. The preparation of quality-assured medium for the bacteria’s growth, development and reproduction is to better satisfy the research and quality control activities of Experimental-Media department, NICVB. In order to share the knowledge of LJ medium,Mycobacteria species and BCG vaccine, at 13:30 on November 28th 2016, Science - Training - International Cooperation department co-operate with Experimental-Media department on holding the periodical professional briefing at the NICVB’s meeting hall with the participation of the whole Institute’s staffs and researchers.
